My Wonderful Website

If you're wondering how I built such a wonderful website, I've been kind of wondering that myself. I'm not web-savvy and the only other website I built was for my art gallery. And no one ever visits it so it kind of defeats its purpose.

This website, on the other hand, is getting lots of traffic. Yeah!!! So I can get my love of art out there for millions of surfers to see, and hopefully inspire them to use art as a healing tool.

I created this site using SiteBuildIt, which I stumbled on when I was searching for a way to create a website that I had total control over, and one that would actually get traffic coming to it. So here I am, a year later, with not only a website that gets lots of traffic, but I also now know tons of stuff about building websites, internet ranking, search engine optimization, creating content, ect. It's been a very empowering experience for me.

What I like most about SBI is that I have access to thousands of other people just like me - women over forty who are creating their own websites and internet businesses. See other sites built using SBI. I can go to the online SBI forums and read what others are saying about their triumphs and frustrations. I can add my own experiences and get/give feedback. In the real world, I don't know anyone who is doing what I'm doing (I feel like a genius around my friends now that I've been using SBI).

The other thing I like about SBI is that I no longer panic when I think about retirement. And a woman over forty (divorced with no children) I used to worry about how I was going to support myself in later years. I really think SBI has given me a way to do that. So I'm slowly - but surely - working on building up this site, and I plan on starting another one that will be more of a business website.

I also LOVE that I now know how to get my website listed high in the rankings in search engines. Which is very important because when people do a search, they usually only visit the first three results pages. So its really important to have your website listed in those first three pages. Not only do I know what to do to get my site ranked (and listed) high, but SBI also give me all the tools I need.

My site isn't ranked all that high yet, BUT it will be because SBI has given me all the know-how and tools to make it happen. Its just a matter of finding time (i have a full time job and a freelance graphic design photography business) to work on my site. Check out the rankings of other SBI folks.

If you're wondering how I'm going to make money with a website: the options are wide open. I'm planning on having several websites that cover my different hobbies.
